Fractional carbon dioxide laser resurfacing has been touted by WebMD as the top Anti Aging breakthrough of the decade.
Quoting Dr David Goldberg, professor of dermatology at Mt Sinai School of Medicine, New York City, "Essentially, you are getting all the benefits of laser resurfacing, still the best way to remove wrinkles, but you’re getting it without the downtime and without the horrendous complication rate."
The Colagen Thermoscan is just a laser and is excellent for the treatment of:
1. Acne Scars and other scars (not keloids)
2. Stretch Marks
3. Tightening and rejuvenation of the aging skin and removal of wrinkles.
What to expect.
Maximum effects for results takes 6-8 weeks to develop with the skin appearing more radiant and wrinkle free and with less abnormal coloration. Acne scars will appear less deep and obvious with each treatment.
Results are seen best after at least 2 to 3 treatments 4 to 6 weeks apart.
Is it painful?
The procedure is quite painless as the skin is numbed with topical anesthetic cream about 40 minutes prior to the treatment.
What is the downtime?
The skin will look reddish ( like a sunburn) and the patient is asked to moisturise frequently for about 3 days after the procedure. UV light avoidance is highly recommended and the patient can start going out after the 3rd day.
